May 29th 2008 marks one year since Jimm first went into the hospital for his pancreatitis. He was admitted at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. The beginning phases of his treatment are documented HERE.
This turned out to be the beginning of a nightmare lived by Jimm, all who knew him.. and especially those who loved him dearly.
We have learned that the Community Foundation of Carroll County passed along funds to Deborah for Jimm's funeral, but it was not enough to cover the entire cost. However, after Jimm's passing, friends rallied to contribute over $2,000.00 which enabled the Foundation to completely cover all funeral expenses. Thanks as always to all Jimm's faithful friends!

Welcome to the Jimm Revelle Fund Blogsite
The Jimm Revelle Fund is a non-profit charitable effort to assist in raising much needed money for Jimm Revelle and his family. Our friend Jimm has been hospitalized with pancreatitis, and complications too numerous to mention.. since May 29th, 2007. All of his rooms have been in intensive care wards, and his medical condition critical. His recovery will continue to be long and expensive, and this blog is dedicated to detailing what his friends, acquaintances, and coworkers are doing to help.

Community Foundation Of Carroll County - Jimm Revelle Fund Statement from first deposit on 9/8/07 to 12/31/07:
Total contributions to the Fund..........$14,449.05
Total bank fees taken out...............$12.25
Total payments taken out for Revelle
expenses.........$6,763.45
Ending Fund balance as of Dec 31, 07.........$7,673.35
We are hoping for more up to date figures soon.

It had always proven difficult to get updates on the Fund.. but let it just be said that many expenses were taken care of during the life of the Jimm Revelle Fund. As noted in the post of May 29, 2008.. there was not enough in the Fund to cover the funeral costs at first, but following Jimm's death there was a flurry of contributions exceeding $2,000.00. This amount enabled Deborah to pay all of the funeral expenses. Jimm's good friends had come through again.
It is important to note that whatever small amount was left over has been kicked back into the main fund called the Community Of Compassion. Monies in this fund go to help people with problems similar to Jimm's family, scholarships, and other important community needs.
It has been suggested that additional contributions could be made in Jimm's name for a scholarship fund. We will pass the word around on this and see if folks might be interested.
